My name is Lisa and I started Cherished Shutters with my husband Ian several years ago now. After undergoing neck surgery, I was advised not to go back to work as a children’s wear shop manager. So, I hear you ask how did you end up starting Cherished Shutters. Well if you’ve got five minutes please read on.
In my previous life (pre-children) I was head designer for Windsor children’s clothing. Being very hands on I was a dab hand with a needle and thread. So, after my surgery the kids had all grown up and I was no longer needed. So, I was at a loss of what to do with my time. Then my sister in law also called Lisa (we like to keep things simple in our family) asked me to make her a Roman blind which I did and Ian fitted it. I was then asked if we would make some for her friends and so things progressed.
We now do the full range of blinds, curtains, pelmets and shutters. Our son Jake now fits the blinds & shutters with Ian helping out. Ian and I still go out to do the initial consultation together. Ian to make sure all the measurements are taken and the blinds, curtains or shutters will fit where needed. Myself just in case you need any help with colours and advice on the look you’re going for.
We cover Teesside and surrounding areas so please feel free to contact us to see how we can help.
